Dr Tracy Mountford discussed CoolSculpting frequently asked questions with Ria Murch; CoolSculpting specialist and Senior Medical Aesthetician who has done thousands of CoolSculpting treatments, including her favourite areas to treat, how CoolSculpting can benefit different patients and what treatments it can be used in combination with.
Dr Mountford began by asking Ria why patients come to her looking for a non-surgical fat loss procedure. Ria explains that sometimes it’s an occasion they have coming up, but often patients come to her with a certain part of their body that they are unhappy with. Tracy adds that it’s interesting that it’s not just for people wanting to look better on the beach, actually for the majority of people it’s how they look in clothes and making them feel more confident in their every day lives. Ria agrees and adds that we accommodate for the areas that we dislike because we have always thought the only option was surgical, but CoolSculpting offers a non-surgical alternative, with long lasting results.
Ria adds that one of the best parts of her job is when patients come back to her for their reviews and they feel so much more confident in themselves and the best compliment is ‘I don’t even think about it anymore’, which is amazing.
How CoolSculpting Fat Freezing actually works
Ria then goes on to explain how CoolSculpting actually works; by using controlled cooling to freeze the fat cells, which then die and are disposed of naturally through the lymphatic system. They also discuss the time frame in which you see results, which can be anywhere from three up to twelve weeks after your treatment.
The most popular areas to treat with CoolSculpting
One of the most popular areas that Ria treats is the double chin along with the tummy and waist for men and women. For women, a popular area is the inner and outer thighs. Ria says that this is her favourite area to treat, which uses a very unique treatment which she has been doing for a really long time. Tracy explains that some people want their inner and outer thighs done separately however some people want the entire circumference of their thighs reduced, which is now possible thanks to the ‘Round the World’; a cutting edge treatment to reduce thigh circumference.
Ria goes on to explain how the ‘banana roll fat‘ is a popular area, just under the buttocks, which can be treated with CoolSculpting and then combined with EMSculpt to really lift the buttocks to give a really ‘wow’ result.
