The Game Changers In The Industry – Featuring Alice Hart-Davis

I’ve been working in the aesthetics industry for many years, and I’ve seen my fair share of treatments come and go.

What’s hot one minute might not be the next, but for every forgotten fad, there are also trailblazing treatments that have completely changed how we work at the clinic as well the entire aesthetics industry.

I had the opportunity to sit down with renowned beauty journalist and Tweakment’s Guide author Alice Hart-Davis, to discuss the game changers shaking up the aesthetics industry over the last twenty-five years.

Alice and I spoke about our experiences and what we think are the most impactful treatments that changed the game, which you can see in the video below:

The game changers:

Toxins

First and foremost, the earliest game changer was toxins, which allows us to create that soft natural, airbrushed look. When it first became popular, we used muscle relaxant to treat wrinkles on the face and neck. Now, we also use them to relax the jaw and neck muscles… we can even treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) with these injections.

Fat freezing

Another thing that has made major waves, especially in recent years, with new technology advancements, was a new method of fat freezing.

The biggest deterrent of fat reduction in the past was that it always required some form of serious surgery with significant recovery time.

Before we started using CoolSculpting, I never would have guessed there’d be a treatment that could permanently and effectively get rid of fat without liposuction.

But now, fat-freezing has become one of our most popular treatments, and we have been the UK & Western Europe’s leading CoolSculpting provider for six years now.

CoolSculpting’s unique technology is proven to work in reducing fat cells as a body contouring method, with long-lasting results. We can now target problem areas such as the hips, thighs, and ‘bingo wings’ to sculpt the body without scars, surgery, and with little to no recovery time.

Profhilo

Another game changer has been Profhilo. It’s a breakthrough hyaluronic acid injectable that counteracts skin laxity while also nourishing the skin.

Unlike other injectables, Profhilo is not a dermal filler. It’s been designed to stimulate natural collagen and elastin production from the inside out as opposed to volumise.

Profhilo is ideal for treating areas that have sufficient volume but still requires smoothing and tightening. These include the face, neck, arms, hands, décolletage and knees.

The final results are very impressive especially on difficult to treat areas such as necks. It also leaves your skin feeling plump and hydrated.

Alice and I have been involved in this field for many years, and we both agree that the standards keep getting higher.

We’re at a new age of aesthetic treatments where patients can achieve almost anything they want – be it a nose job or a facelift – without surgery. I can’t wait to see what innovations of the future holds, and how they’ll impact our ever-growing industry.
